The INFKL infrared tire temperature sensors from Texense offer a cost-effective solution for contact free temperature measurement. It's compact size, it allows for easy installation in a wide variety of systems including FSAE applications, and it has an operating temperature of 40°C.

Typically, these sensors are used in series (4-12) and with their linear output signal, information like tire wear, camber, balance, lateral load transfer, steering and suspension geometry can all be reported. Please note that an accelerometer, steering angle sensor and speed sensors may be required.
